Professional golfer will try to hit an angled target 150 yards away from a special elevated tee at Harrah’s Gulf Coast
WHAT: |
Jeff Maggert, defending champion of the Mississippi Golf Resort Classic, will attempt to guide a golf ball 150 yards over a beach front highway and hit an angled target at Harrah’s Gulf Coast’s new 10 ½-acre waterfront entertainment space overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The ultimate shot over Highway 90 will be attempted on Wednesday afternoon (March 25) from the tropical pool deck of Harrah’s Gulf Coast as part of presenting sponsor C Spire’s “Blue Greens” Challenge sweepstakes, which the company is using to help kick off of the 2015 PGA Champions Tour event. If Maggert hits the 16 square foot C Spire blue “green” on at least one of his 10 shot attempts, a contestant selected in an earlier random drawing will win a grand prize valued at over $15,700, including an LG G3 smartphone, one year of wireless service and a 2015 Yamaha VX Cruiser Wave Runner. C Spire also will donate $5,000 to the Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the tournament’s primary non-profit charitable beneficiary. As an added incentive, if one of Maggert’s shots also lands in a three-foot “bullseye” in the center of the target, C Spire will donate an additional $5,000 to the Habitat for Humanity, making the total contribution $10,000 to the charity. |
